Dark matters

Het Parool

Since a cocaine robbery in Antwerp in December 2012 was followed by an extremely violent shooting in Amsterdam’s Staatsliedenbuurt, the capital has been the scene of many liquidations. The core is a feud between two leaders in the underworld, one of whom has now also been shot dead. After the last grisly chapter in the conflict, the leaving of a head in front of the door of a hookah cafe on the Amstelveenseweg, I used research from crime reporter Paul Vugts to create an overview of the most important liquidations and leaders in the bloody gang war. A version for the newspaper and a version for online.
